Butterflyweed is a host plant for Monarch Butterflies. Monarchs cannot survive without milkweed/butterflyweed. Their caterpillars only eat this plant and the mature butterflies need it to lay their eggs. Easily grown drought tolerant perennial. An upright grower with clusters of beautiful red-orange blooms at the end of hairy stems with lance-shaped leaves. Mature height is 2-3 feet. Plant in full sun.
